New Zealand has been a special place for me since my first trip there about 8 years ago. I went there 3 times in a period of 2 years then, and when a friend from Scandinavia suggested we meet there recently, it didn’t take me long to say yes.
I flew into Auckland and had a day to look around. I have fond memories of Wynyard Quarter when I was in Auckland last time, so I went back to have a look. There are lots of preparation for America’s Cup 2021 in this area, but and it’s still as wonderful as I remember. This is my view from Rushworth Cafe during breakfast (above).
It was drizzling a little but I remembered the wonderful silos – I was first attracted to the dark shadow of the staircase on the right. Luckily I managed to finish 😃 before it drizzled again.
I sketch the iconic Auckland’s Sky Tower quickly (above)
As it was raining, I went to the information kiosk. I met some lovely people there and Janice, a volunteer there even made me tea and offered me biscuits. 😀 I finished one sketch there of my tea and biscuit, and one of the Ferry Building (below).
Till next post, take care.
