I was fortunate to be able to travel with my family to Penang. I had spent consirable amount of time there as a kid, since it is my mother’s hometown and I still have relatives living there.
Most of the family activities were food-related, although we also visited some places that I hadn’t been to since I was little.
We ate a lot, and I sketched a lot at meal times. 😀
There was a huge variety of local food to try – variety of noodles; stir-fries and soups, rice, local cakes, roast meats and seafood, the list goes on and on.
There were also many coffee shops and hawker centers to explore. Most hawker stalls specialise in one dish, and some stalls have been run by the same family for generations. We had to queue for our food at some of the famous/popular places.
